"There have been occasional accidental spills onto the works, including two separate vomiting incidents. Despite immediate attention from on-site conservation staff, the acidity of the vomit caused spots of clean etched metal to appear on the surface, which were impossible to blend in with the rest of the work without polishing the entire surface. A few brightly etched areas therefore remain."

In Ingrid Blix and Oda Haugerud’s first common duo exhibition, barriers between interior and exterior are held in flux through site-specific interventions. Their aim is to let physical components leak and unfold through the gallery space as a result of their experimentation. The intervention takes form through stains, sound, and byproducts.

Oda Haugerud (b. 1990, SE) is based between Gothenburg and Malmö, Sweden. Her sculptures derive from questions of intimacy within a post-industrial condition where weathered machine parts and other discharged matter are put on display. Haugerud obtained a Bachelor degree of Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2018, being nominated for the GRA Awards for her thesis “Living Dead Surplus”. Previous solo exhibitions include ”Vol III Spaysky Fine Art Gallery” (2022) at Good Weather, Chicago, US, ”Tongue Twisters” (2020) at Galleri Konstepidemin, Gothenburg, SE and “freezefearflood” (2019) at Heerz Tooya in Veliko Tarnovo, BG.

Ingrid Blix (b.1990 Gothenburg) works as an artist and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Her practice revolves around themes of becoming in relation to language, space and embodied performativity. The work unfolds through a research process of cross-referencing physical materials of interiority and exteriority. Blix received a BFA from Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2019 and an MFA from Konstfack University in Stockholm in 2023. She has been a part of exhibitions at Kvarnvikens Kvarn (SE), Hägerstens Medborgarhus (SE), Tilde Gallery (NL), Globe Gallery (DE) and Stedelijk Museum (NL).

The exhibition and artist residency is supported by The Swedish Arts Grants Committee. Many thanks to Tequila Bar Fnky Mnky.
